Pompei, scavata per circa quattro quinti del suo territorio urbano, è il sito archeologico urbano più suggestivo e famoso al mondo. L’eruzione del 79 d.C. seppellì la città sotto una coltre di cenere e lapilli spessa 6-7 metri. La maggior parte degli abitanti, fuggiti dalle case, trovarono la morte sul litorale. I pochi rimasti, nella vana speranza di salvarsi nei sotterranei delle abitazioni, morirono asfissiati: i calchi dei loro corpi, ottenuti colando gesso liquido nelle cavità dei corpi nello strato di cenere, sono una commovente testimonianza della tragedia.
Passeggiare tra gli scavi pompeiani è un’esperienza unica, è come compiere un viaggio nel tempo: si respira l’atmosfera della vita dell’antichità, quella pubblica, e soprattutto quella privata. Passeggiando per gli scavi è possibile visitare il Foro, il Tempio dedicato a Giove Capitolino e il Tempio di Apollo. Lungo la via dell’Abbondanza è interessante visitare i negozi dell’epoca come il bordello ricco di dipinti erotici.

Pompeii: the immortal city

Pompeii, with about four-fifths of its urban territory excavated, is the most evocative and famous urban archaeological site in the world. The eruption of 79 AD buried the city under a layer of ash and lapilli 6-7 metres thick. Most of the inhabitants, having fled their homes, found death on the coastline. The few who remained, in the vain hope of saving themselves in the basements of their dwellings, died of suffocation: the plaster casts of their bodies, obtained by pouring liquid plaster into the cavities left by the corpses in the ash layer, are a moving testimony to the tragedy.
Walking through the ruins of Pompeii is a unique experience, like taking a journey back in time: you can breathe the atmosphere of ancient life, both public and, above all, private. Strolling through the excavations, you can visit the Forum, the Temple dedicated to Capitoline Jupiter, and the Temple of Apollo. Along Via dell’Abbondanza, it is interesting to visit the shops of the era, such as the brothel rich in erotic paintings.

Pompéi, fouillée sur environ quatre cinquièmes de son territoire urbain, est le site archéologique urbain le plus suggestif et le plus célèbre au monde. L’éruption de 79 apr. J.-C. a enseveli la ville sous une couche de cendres et de lapilli de 6 à 7 mètres d’épaisseur. La plupart des habitants, ayant fui leurs maisons, ont trouvé la mort sur le littoral. Les rares personnes restées, dans le vain espoir de se sauver dans les sous-sols des habitations, sont mortes asphyxiées : les moulages de leurs corps, obtenus en coulant du plâtre liquide dans les cavités laissées par les corps dans la couche de cendres, sont un témoignage émouvant de la tragédie.
Se promener au cœur des fouilles de Pompéi est une expérience unique, c’est comme faire un voyage dans le temps : on y respire l’atmosphère de la vie de l’antiquité, tant publique que, surtout, privée. En parcourant le site, il est possible de visiter le Forum, le Temple dédié à Jupiter Capitolin et le Temple d’Apollon. Le long de la Via dell’Abbondanza, il est intéressant de visiter les boutiques de l’époque, comme le lupanar riche en peintures érotiques.

Pompeji: Die unsterbliche Stadt
Abfahrt vom Hotel zu der Zeit, die bei der Buchung mit der Agentur vereinbart wurde.
Pompeji, dessen Stadtgebiet zu etwa vier Fünfteln ausgegraben ist, ist die faszinierendste und berühmteste städtische archäologische Stätte der Welt. Der Vulkanausbruch im Jahr 79 n. Chr. begrub die Stadt unter einer 6–7 Meter dicken Schicht aus Asche und Lapilli. Die meisten Einwohner, die aus ihren Häusern geflohen waren, fanden den Tod an der Küste. Die wenigen Zurückgebliebenen, die in der vergeblichen Hoffnung, sich zu retten, in den Kellern der Häuser Schutz suchten, erstickten: Die Gipsabgüsse ihrer Körper, die durch das Gießen von flüssigem Gips in die Hohlräume der Körper in der Ascheschicht gewonnen wurden, sind ein bewegendes Zeugnis dieser Tragödie.
Ein Spaziergang durch die Ausgrabungen von Pompeji ist ein einzigartiges Erlebnis, wie eine Zeitreise: Man atmet die Atmosphäre des antiken Lebens ein – sowohl des öffentlichen als auch vor allem des privaten. Bei der Besichtigung der Ausgrabungsstätte kann man das Forum, den dem kapitolinischen Jupiter gewidmeten Tempel und den Apollon-Tempel besichtigen. Entlang der Via dell’Abbondanza ist es interessant, die Geschäfte der damaligen Zeit zu besuchen, wie etwa das Bordell (Lupanar) mit seinen zahlreichen erotischen Wandgemälden.
